Education

The quality and improvement of education in Caia Park remains the number one priority for Caia Park Communities First and other agencies serving the housing estate.
There has been a need to improve upon the level of educational attainment amongst Caia Park residents and a great deal of work has taken place to address this issue.
Winter College Project
In 2005 an exciting and innovative project called 'Winter College' was set up to give young people the opportunity to try taster sessions at Yale College. The overall aim of the project was to challenege and enocurage young people into further education or training. Over the following three years, the project developed into a hugely successful education project and has been rolled out to other schools across Wrexham.
Approximately 200 young people predominantly from Caia Park have now gone onto further education as a direct result of Winter College.
School Playground Provision in Caia Park

Caia Park Communities First have been working in partnership with Business in the Community and have been successful in completing three school makeovers with the aid of Airbus, Cadburys, Halifax Bank of Scotland, Scottish Power and many more...
First to benefit from this was St Anne's Catholic Primary School followed by Gwenfro Community Primary School. Last but not least was Hafod Y Wern Community Primary School and their makeover was followed by work on the garden and courtyard at Caia Park Nursery.

Winners of People's Millions
We worked together with St Anne's Catholic School to submit a bid to the People's Millions to provide outdoor facilities including educational play equipment, goal area, climbing frames and basketball pitch. Over a series of months, the project progressed through the various stages of the competition and the school were informed that they had reached the final stage! A TV crew attended the school and the pupils took part in promoting their project to be aired on television. The project received so many votes from across Wrexham and Wales as a whole that they were able to receive a second visit from the TV crew who finally announced the great news to the pupils, staff and supporters - THEY WERE THE WINNERS! The school received over £60,000 to enable them to improve their school grounds beyond all recognition.
Congratulations St Anne's!!
