Annual Zoo Trip
Caia Park Early Years Forum held their Annual trip to the zoo on the 25th of May. A total of 405 parents and children filled 8 buses and all had a wonderful time! The weather was good too!
Elf and Safety Fun Day!
Caia Park Early Years Forum are holding an “Elf & Safety Fun Day” at the Venture on Wednesday 23rd June from 11.00am to 2.00pm. There will be fun activities and a treasure hunt for pre-school children as well as lots of safety advice, free leaflets and safety items for the parents. Come along and join in the fun!
Over 50’s Female Fit Classes
A partnership of Caia Park Health Team, Deva House Day Centre and Queensway Leisure complex has seen the creation of a gentle exercise class for women over the age of 50. It takes place on Tuesdays at 2pm and costs just £1.50 per session.
Exercise is great for all ages and it is never too late to get the benefits from taking part in exercise. It is recommended that adults take part in 5 lots of 30 minutes exercise a week which can be made up of walking, cycling, gardening and anything that increases your heart rate.
The new exercise group is very low impact and encourages people to only do what they feel comfortable with. Any women over 50 are invited to watch the first session to see if they would like to take part. If this group is slightly too energetic for you, then watch this space for a new, lower impact group starting in July which will be mainly seated exercise.
Help for Heroes
Time is running out to book your tickets for the Help the Heroes event at the War Memorial Hall, Bodhyfryd (next to Waterworld) this Saturday 12th June 2010. Tickets, which cost £3, are available from Caia Park Communities First, Chatters Hairdressers and local Residents Associations. Tickets will also be available on the door. The show will be an excellent evening’s entertainment with a host of singers and other acts, many of whom are from Caia Park. Car Boot Sale
A car boot sale is being arranged to coincide with Caia Park Carnival on Saturday 17th July 2010. It will be held on the small car park outside Queensway Sports Centre from 1.00pm until 4pm and pitches will cost £5 each. To book your pitch, please telephone 01978 364920 - pitches are strictly limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis so book your place now!
Caia Park Environmental Group
The Caia Park Environmental Group is holding its annual Environmental Awareness Day on Saturday 26th June starting at 11am. The Event is being held at Hafod y Wern Community Primary School, Deva Way, Wrexham. Come along and join in the fun – bring your pets for the Dog and Pet show – fun for all the family with stalls, competitions and exhibitions – enter the craft and other competitions on the day. The HSA at Gwenfro Community Primary School will be holding a Carboot sale this Saturday (12th June). It starts at 9 am, it will be £3 a pitch and there will be refreshments available. Everyone Welcome to come down and have a look for some bargains!
