Elf and Safety Fun Day!
Caia Park Early Years Forum are holding an “Elf & Safety Fun Day” at the Venture on Wednesday 23rd June from 11.00am to 2.00pm. There will be fun activities and a treasure hunt for pre-school children as well as lots of safety advice, free leaflets and safety items for the parents. Come along and join in the fun!
Caia Park Carnival
The first of what is hoped to become an annual event is being held from 1pm until 4pm on Saturday 17th July at Queensway Sports Stadium. Full details of attractions will be confirmed in the weeks leading up to the event but it promises to be a great afternoon out for all the family! Make a date to be there and join in the fun.
Car Boot Sale
A car boot sale is being arranged to coincide with Caia Park Carnival on Saturday 17th July 2010. It will be held on the small car park outside Queensway Sports Centre from 1.00pm until 4pm and pitches will cost £5 each. To book your pitch, please telephone 01978 364920 - pitches are strictly limited and will be available on a first come, first served basis so book your place now!
Caia Park Environmental Group
The Caia Park Environmental Group is holding its annual Environmental Awareness Day on Saturday 26th June starting at 11am. The Event is being held at Hafod y Wern Community Primary School, Deva Way, Wrexham. Come along and join in the fun – bring your pets for the Dog and Pet show – fun for all the family with stalls, competitions and exhibitions – enter the craft and other competitions on the day. Free Trip to Southport!
A free trip to Southport on Monday 12th July has been organized for older residents of Caia Park. Tickets are limited to 49 and are available on a first come, first served basis. Pick up points will be as follows:
Pentre Gwyn Community Centre 9.30am
Post Office (Bryn Hafod) 9.40am
Prince Charles Road 9.5am

Strawberry Tea
St Mark’s Church is holding a Strawberry Tea from 2pm on Saturday 26th June at 9 Arenig Road, Caia Park. There will be a Grand Draw, Tombola and a variety of stalls including a cake stall and a White Elephant stall. Everyone is warmly invited to attend – entrance costs just £3 and all proceeds will go to Church funds.
National Bike Week
National Bike Week takes place 19-27th June and to encourage cycling in the local community, Caia Park Health Team is providing residents with opportunities to become more involved in cycling activities.
Caia Park Health Team will be hosting a cycle surgery on Thursday 24th June, 6-8pm at The Dunks (weather permitting). The bike doctor will be available to provide free of charge assistance with minor repairs along with hints and tips on safety and maintenance.

Breast Feeding Health Event
Join the Caia Park Health Team for afternoon tea, and gain information on breastfeeding at a multi agency health event to be held in Caia Park Partnership buildings on Friday 25th June between 2pm and 4pm. There are free gifts available for the first 100 visitors who chat at our breastfeeding stand. We will have a story teller to entertain the children, as well as information and tasters relating to health well being and breastfeeding your baby. We will also have peer supporters available to talk to visitors about their experiences of breastfeeding their babies. Please join us!
Just for Kids
Coming soon at Caia Park Partnership, Just for Kids is a social enterprise that collects and recycles clothes donated by people across Wrexham. Gwenfro CP School news
The HSA at Gwenfro Community Primary School will be holding a Carboot sale this Saturday (19th June). It starts at 9 am, it will be £3 a pitch and there will be refreshments available. Everyone welcome to come down and have a look for some bargains! Date has changed from last week.
As a school we have been asked to be part of the Primary School Marathon which is being held in Queen's Square, Wrexham on Saturday 19th June. We have a team of 10 children and 3 staff taking part! Go Team! This is all in aid to support the Hospital League of Friends Charity.
As part of their transition project the children from year 6 have been to Danger Point to learn lots about personal safety.
Classes 3 and 4 have been on a trip to the Stretton Water Mill where they had lots of fun making machines from cogs and going back to the lives of Victorian people working in the Mill.
Key Stage 1 had lots of fun and exciting things to do on their 'Rhubarb Day'. They were planting things, measuring things, following instructions and cooking. Mrs Ashford said the Crumble was lovely! This was part of a project with Andrea Evans from Community Gardening.
